Job Description:
Bloomberg's Multimedia Department is searching for Flash Editors in our New York office. Flash editors are responsible for all words in the dashboard: both scrolling headlines, and the banner that sits on top. Flash Editors work closely with show teams: producers and writers enter banners and name-fonts before air, but flash editors will coordinate breaking news and guest heads. The individuals in this role must conduct control-room coordination of Viz-RT/ graphics operator for all lower-third banners including breaking news, guest heads, story banners, and name fonts, producing that portion of the screen. This position requires extensive up-to-the-second knowledge of the news, particularly in our core competency of business information.
Qualifications:

They are looking for a superb journalist and editorial manager to drive Reuters coverage of American industry. The successful candidate, who will be based in New York, will have exceptional news judgment, great story ideas and be a fine editor and writer. The job involves running teams reporting on companies in the following three areas: capital goods and autos, raw materials and energy, and aerospace and travel. That means a wide range of major companies from General Electric to General Motors, ExxonMobil to Boeing, from solar power companies to casino operators and conglomerates. We need an editor who is able to direct coverage of the biggest breaking news stories, drive our reporters to build sources and break significant news, and motivate them into producing analysis and enterprise stories that are relevant to our financial clients, and write a great trunk story yourself when necessary. The Office Coordinator is the "go- to" person for our fast paced, dynamic, high performing staff.
